Powder coating is the best design material to ensure your car stays protected for years to come. With our staff of talented professionals, Powder Coating by Frank T will work with you to bring your dream car to life. Our numerous colors and finishes let you personalize the metal parts of your car as much as you want.
What is “Sandblasting”?
To prepare metal for powder coating, Frank sandblasts it. Sandblasting is a process that pushes tiny particles toward the metal at high pressure. The particles are typically made of silica crystals or copper slag. The particles remove any imperfections on the surface of the metal during the sandblasting process. Exceptional powder coating requires a metal surface to be entirely unmarred by old paint, debris, or rust. At this point in the powder coating process, Frank will apply tape to protect any areas of the piece you do not want powder coated.
How Do We Get Every Surface?
When you decide to hire Powder Coating by Frank T to deck out your car, we will discuss with you all the steps we take during the process. Depending on what pieces you want powder coated, the car may need to come apart at several points. Pieces that we powder coat from your car are metal pieces like the rims and parts of the engine. Parts of your car that are removable and metal are excellent for powder coating because we can safely remove them from the car and place them in a 400-degree oven. Anything you want to be powder coated must have all the plastic and rubber removed from it before we will service it.
Will Powder Coating Make a Difference on Your Car?
Not only is powder coating a way to give your car a unique look, but it will protect the metal pieces of your car better than metal plating. Powder coating is resistant to weather, making it invulnerable to rust. Instead of watching rust grow on the rims of your car, consider talking to Frank about a new look. Have your hood personalized with powder coating to match your new set of rims and engine.
